Emircom was founded in 1984 by Hussein Jassim Al Nowais. An MBA from the United States, Hussein Al Nuwais started Emircom with a view to delivering state of the art global technology locally. With just 5 employees in 1984 today Emircom has over 200 employees and is a market leader in ICT in the Middle East. Emircom is a leading partner to many heavyweights in the ICT segment, most notably Cisco, contributing to a major portion of Cisco's business in UAE & Saudi Arabia. With a slew of successful infrastructural projects under its belt, Emircom today is well on its way to taking it's place at the high table as the leading IT partner in nation building.
Mohamad Abou-Zaki, MAZ as he is affectionately called, has been with Emircom for over a decade since 1998. As COO of Emircom, MAZ is responsible for strategic planning, retaining key customers, ensuring successful roll out of critical projects, and adoption of new complex technologies, besides his overall management of the organization.
He comes with an experience of more than 16 years. At Emircom, he has handled various responsibilities, moving from Presales, to Sales to Regional Director before donning the COO mantle. Under his stewardship Emircom has seen a consolidation of its strengths. MAZ is a pragmatic leader combining vision with realism who believes strongly in building an organization founded on sound value systems. Since his elevation to the top job, he has led Emircom to many key milestones. A brilliant negotiator and a visionary manager, MAZ has a flair for people management. He is a firm believer in the famous adage “the task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to inspire it to come out since the greatness is already inbuilt”
Prior to Emircom, MAZ comes mainly from a software development background during his job at Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal (Pan Arab Economic Magazine).
MAZ has an Engineering degree in Electronics, which he obtained from The University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
Ajayya Kumar or Ajay as he is called is the CFO of Emircom. As a CFO, Ajay has guided the company towards a strong & firm financial foundation of internal controls and discipline. Ajay has had a long association of over a decade with the group and he has used this long experience to advice and guide the senior management in strategic areas. Ajay has been with Emircom since 2004 and with the Emirates Holding Group for over a decade.
His long stint with the group and Emircom has made him an invaluable asset to the management team and under his stewardship, the finance function of Emircom has delivered much more than managing finance. He has worked assiduously to build assets, bring down bad debts and build a fortress of prudent finance policies to protect Emircom’s interests.
Ajay is a strong team player, an astute tactician and one who can roll up his sleeves and get hands on into a job. This has made him a key player in Emircom’s corporate affairs.
Ajay is a qualified Cost Accountant from the prestigious Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). He has also been conferred a Fellowship (Fellow Member) from the same Institute (FICWAI). He is a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) from ICMA, USA and is holding a membership of this institute since 1999. In Addition to this, he has done a ‘Master Financial Professional’ (MFP) from the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM). His credentials are essentially a harmonic blend of academics and the experience.
With 15 plus years of experience in various MNCs, his exposure apart from Emircom was with corporate giants like ABB SAE SADELMI, IPCA LAB LTD., India as Internal Auditor and Federal Foods L.L.C as Financial Controller
Nallimilli Venkata Reddy or NV Reddy as he is known as at Emircom, came to Emircom in January 2005. He currently heads the operations at KSA as the Country Manager.
Reddy has been responsible for making the KSA operations one of the strongest and most profitable for Emircom. Some of KSA’s most high profile companies are Emircom’s clients and this includes Mobily, KSA’s national telecom operator.
Reddy comes with a huge experience of over 2 decades. An able administrator and one with an entrepreneurial instinct, he combines business acumen and sound relationship management skills towards building the KSA region as key contributor in Emircom’s success story.
Reddy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Hyderabad, India.
Yusafali has been with Emircom since February 2006.
As a Finance Manager at Emircom, Yusaf’s carries the mandate of ensuring that Emircom’s financial needs and commitments are matched. Working with a team of highly qualified finance professionals, Himself a techie at heart, Yusaf combines this passion for technology and his finance background to build a fortress of checks and balances in his turf. Yusaf’s penchant for numbers is matched by his business pragmatism and this quality endears him to his colleagues in operations. Yusaf has taken it upon himself the responsibility of preserving accuracy and integrity of financial transactions at Emircom.
Prior to Emircom, Yusaf was with GAC in UAE, where he was responsible for Management Accounting.
Yusafali is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom; he also holds an MBA degree from the SIBER school of management, India with specialization in Finance and Marketing
Aida Hayek joined Emircom in September 2007 and currently holds the position of Operations Manager. Aida comes with nearly 2 decades of experience in operations. Prior to Emircom, Aida was with Ericsson where she was responsible for institutionalizing the HR processes.
In her capacity as Operations Manager at Emircom, she is responsible for institutionalizing organizational policies and processes. Her work involves ensuring that all business support systems across the organization are effectively in place. She coordinates with all business units of Emircom to ensure this. With her vast experience and seniority she is a veritable asset for Emircom.
Aida holds a Bachelor Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Saint Joseph University/ Engineering School - Lebanon
Bassam Rached has been with Emircom since 2005 and currently heads the Dubai operations for Emircom. Bassam is responsible for the P&L of the Dubai branch. Under his stewardship of, Dubai operations has seen some stunning customer acquisitions and has added some marquee customers. Some of the new customers added reads like a who’s who of Dubai’s business landscape. Bassam has guided Dubai operations to become a pillar of Emircom’s business.
Apart from his regional role of managing Dubai operations, Bassam is also part of the organizational think tank. Bassam’s insightful analytical skills add significant value in Emircom’s strategic planning.
Bassam holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer and Communication from the Lebanese University – Lebanon. He has to his credit various Cisco certifications.
Ghassan Khoury joined Emircom in May 2006 and is responsible for the branch operations of Abu Dhabi. Ghassan joined Emircom as Sales Manager and in a short span moved to head the branch operations. He continues to drive the sales operations with the passion and intensity of a gladiator. Ghassan comes with a good amount of visioning skills and this has helped Emircom in its risk management and strategic planning initiatives. An able administrator, a conscientious manager, he carries the team with him and takes pride in grooming and mentoring his team members. This has helped create a layer of managerial talent for Emircom.
Ghassan holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Communication from the Saint Joseph University/Engineering School – Lebanon. He also carries a host of additional professional certifications. He is a CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional), Cisco Sales Expert and 3 Com Certified Solutions Expert.
