Enterprise SD-WAN without the MPLS price tag.
PowerScale connects your branches, data centres and cloud environments through one managed network, built on Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN. Applications get the bandwidth they need automatically, new sites go live in days rather than months, and security is built in. It suits large enterprises running distributed operations across the UAE, KSA and beyond.
What you get
Three tiers
Edge for essential connectivity, Plus for advanced security, Infinity for full SASE. The tier and deliverables comparison is further down this page.
Lower cost, faster sites
40-60% lower WAN costs than MPLS and 10x faster site deployments, with better application performance across every location.
Controllers hosted where you need them
Choose Cisco hosted multi-tenant, Emircom hosted multi-tenant or dedicated tenant within Saudi Arabia or the UAE, or controllers on your own premises.
One accountable team
Emircom’s Managed Services teams in the UAE and KSA handle updates, routine maintenance, incidents and changes, and work alongside your existing carriers.
How it works
Design
We review your sites, applications and carriers, then agree a roll-out plan. You can pilot a few locations first or work to a fixed deadline.
Deploy
Devices are brought online site by site and traffic moves from MPLS to the SD-WAN, with application-aware routing and security policy applied from the controllers.
Run
Emircom monitors the network, manages incidents and changes, and handles updates and routine maintenance. The tier you choose sets support hours and reporting.
PowerScale what is included
Application-aware routing
Voice, ERP and Microsoft 365 each get the link that meets their loss and latency targets. Traffic moves off a failing link within seconds.
Any transport, together
MPLS, broadband, 4G, 5G and satellite run side by side. Add or drop a carrier without redesigning the network.
Security at every site
Firewall, intrusion prevention and URL filtering run on the branch router. Infinity adds SASE security for remote users.
Direct to the cloud
Branches reach Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud directly. Cloud OnRamp measures each path and picks the best exit per site.
Segmentation end to end
Point-of-sale, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV and corporate traffic stay in separate segments from branch to data centre.
Visibility and reporting
Dashboards per site and application show what users experience. Plus adds monthly online reports; Infinity adds reports on demand and capacity planning.
PowerScale Service Tiers
Plus and Infinity include every deliverable of the tiers below them.
- Network commissioning
- Service provisioning
- Guest Wi-Fi

A typical scenario
The situation
A food retail group runs 64 stores and 3 warehouses across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, all on MPLS. A new store waits 10 to 12 weeks for its circuit. Microsoft 365 and card payments travel back through the Dubai data centre, so Monday mornings are slow.
What Emircom does
Emircom builds PowerScale on the Plus tier, with the controllers hosted by Emircom in-country. Each store gets two broadband links and a 5G backup. Payments, guest Wi-Fi and CCTV run in separate segments. MPLS stays at the data centres for one year, then retires.
What changes
New stores go live in 5 working days instead of 10 to 12 weeks. WAN cost falls by about 40% in year one. Microsoft 365 leaves each store directly, and payments switch to a working link within seconds. Store outages caused by the network fall by a third.
Illustrative scenario based on common customer situations. It is not a named client case study.
Questions we are asked
How is PowerScale different from PowerManage?
PowerScale runs on Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and suits organisations with data centres, complex routing, strict segmentation or SASE needs. PowerManage runs on Cisco Meraki, managed from one cloud dashboard. If your sites mostly need internet, SaaS and a VPN to one hub, PowerManage is usually the better fit.
How do you move sites off MPLS without an outage?
We install and test the SD-WAN router while MPLS still carries the traffic. Applications then move in waves: internet and SaaS first, then ERP and voice. MPLS stays as one of the links until you cancel it. Most branch cutovers fit in a two-hour maintenance window.
Does controller hosting meet NCA ECC and UAE IA requirements?
Choose an Emircom-hosted option and the controllers, logs and configuration stay in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Customer hosting keeps them on your own premises. Your compliance team makes the final call; we supply the architecture and data-flow documents the review needs.
Can we reuse our existing Cisco routers and licences?
Often, yes. Cisco ISR 1000, ISR 4000 and Catalyst 8000 routers run Catalyst SD-WAN with the right software and subscription. We check model, memory and software version during design. ISR G2 routers (1900, 2900 and 3900 series) are past end of support and need replacing.
What happens to our carrier contracts?
Nothing changes on day one. PowerScale runs over the circuits you already have, so you can keep MPLS, add broadband or 5G, and retire circuits as contracts end. Emircom handles faults with one carrier on Plus and with two on Infinity.
How fast are changes and incidents handled?
Requests go through the Emircom service desk. Standard changes take 48 hours on Edge and 24 hours on Plus and Infinity, with 2 or 4 included each month. Infinity adds emergency changes within 12 hours. Incident cover is 8×5 on Edge and 24×7 on Plus and Infinity.
