24/7 threat detection and response without building your own SOC.

PowerDefend gives you security operations run by Emircom’s analysts. We monitor your whole IT environment around the clock, detect threats across endpoints, networks, email and cloud, and respond before damage is done. Built on Cisco XDR, powered by Cisco Talos threat intelligence and managed by Emircom, it gives you the coverage of a security operations centre without the cost of building one.

What you get

Beyond the endpoint

Traditional EDR watches endpoints. PowerDefend ingests telemetry from your network, cloud workloads, endpoints, email gateways and firewalls, and correlates it to catch threats that single tools miss.

Analysts on every shift

Industry-certified security analysts work your incidents 24x7x365, and machine learning filters out false positives before they reach them.

Cisco XDR and Talos intelligence

Built on Cisco XDR and fed by Cisco Talos global threat intelligence, with telemetry from multi-vendor IT and security infrastructure.

No SOC to build

You get the coverage of a security operations centre without hiring, training and retaining the staff to run one.

How it works

Onboard

We assess your environment, activate the XDR tenant, integrate your security tools and test detections, then go live with your sign-off.

Detect and triage

Analysts monitor around the clock. Correlated telemetry and machine learning separate real threats from noise.

Respond and report

When a threat is real, we investigate, contain and remove it using agreed playbooks, then send an incident report with context, not just an alert.

PowerDefend what is included

01

Managed EDR and NDR

Analysts watch endpoint and network telemetry together, using Cisco Secure Endpoint and Secure Network Analytics or the tools you already run.

02

One incident, not 40 alerts

Firewall, email, identity, cloud and endpoint alerts are correlated in Cisco XDR, so analysts see the whole attack in one place.

03

Triage and response, 24x7x365

Certified analysts triage, contain and remove threats using playbooks agreed at onboarding, then report with context and remediation steps.

04

Threat hunting

Analysts test hypotheses based on known attacker techniques, to find threats that never raised an alert.

05

Exposure assessment

A documented view of which assets, systems and data are exposed to breach, kept current as your environment changes.

06

Talos intelligence and your portal

Cisco Talos and third-party feeds enrich every detection. A ticketing and reporting portal shows open cases, actions taken and monthly trends.

A typical scenario

The situation

A financial services firm with 900 staff in Dubai and Riyadh must show its regulators 24/7 monitoring. A security operations centre needs about eight analysts to cover three shifts, which takes a year to hire. Meanwhile two IT staff triage around 2,000 alerts a week from six tools, often at night.

What Emircom does

Emircom connects endpoint, network, firewall, email and cloud telemetry to Cisco XDR in six weeks and tunes detections to the firm. Response playbooks are agreed with the IT and risk teams. Emircom’s analysts handle triage, containment and reporting around the clock.

What changes

Alerts reaching the firm fall from about 2,000 a week to a handful of confirmed incidents, each with a report. A compromised laptop is isolated within minutes, not the next working morning. The firm shows round-the-clock coverage to its regulator without building a SOC.

Illustrative scenario based on common customer situations. It is not a named client case study.

Questions we are asked

What is MXDR, and how is it different from EDR and MDR?

EDR watches endpoints. MDR adds human analysts who run detection and response for you. MXDR, managed extended detection and response, does this across endpoints, networks, email, cloud and identity, correlating telemetry from all of them in one place.

Do we need to buy Cisco security products?

No. Cisco XDR is the platform, and PowerDefend takes telemetry from multi-vendor IT and security tools, so you keep what you already run.

What happens when you find a real threat?

Analysts investigate, contain and remove it using the playbooks agreed at onboarding. Actions such as isolating a laptop or disabling an account are pre-approved, so they happen at 3am without waiting for a call. You then receive an incident report with a remediation plan.

How long does onboarding take?

Typically 4 to 8 weeks: assessment and licence activation, integrations with your security tools, tuning against your environment, then testing and go-live with your sign-off.

Does PowerDefend help with NCA ECC, SAMA or UAE IA audits?

Yes. Round-the-clock monitoring, incident records and monthly reports give evidence for the monitoring and incident-management controls in NCA ECC, the SAMA framework and UAE IA standards. Your compliance team owns the audit; we supply the records.
